HET ME262 - corsair_pilot - 28-03-2012

Hey guys,
I'm sure I saw someone on here building a Het me262. Sorry haven't been able to find the signature that mentioned it. I just want to ask a few questions

RE: HET ME262 - kizza42 - 28-03-2012

Always with the difficult jets you are... Yes!!!!

I know a few jet jockeys wanting to build Turbine models. Always an interested project because if you want a Me262 to be truly scale it must spontaneously burst into flames at random moments Paranoid

RE: HET ME262 - corsair_pilot - 28-03-2012

There is a 73mm def version. I'm guessing at the edf size. Balsa n glass construction n foam wings. I swear I saw someone on here building one up!
Warbirds n unusual planes/jets, I'll more than likely like it! Haha

I can only hope you've played Il2-1946 then!

RE: HET ME262 - corsair_pilot - 28-03-2012

Got a link or info on the game?
I'd certainly be interested.
In the process of trying to recover lost files on the laptop so don't want to download too much yet... but once I've at least found the photos and movies I want then I'll be happy to go nuts!!

RE: HET ME262 - kizza42 - 28-03-2012

Get this:
http://www.gog.com/gamecard/il_2_sturmovik_1946

It comes out of the box with a stack of WW2 warbirds and Jets to fly, There is also a free mod that adds just about every zany crazy WW2 airframe that they came up with:

You will NEED a joystick however as the physics are quite accurate.
Best $10 you will ever spend on a game

RE: HET ME262 - corsair_pilot - 28-03-2012

I may just have to get it, and a joystick!
Looks pretty awesome!!

RE: HET ME262 - BenR - 28-03-2012

If you want to get serious.....

* Get a driving wheel set, and use the pedals for rudder.
* I am sure you can buy somewhere a proper throttle joystick, letting you control it with left hand leaving right for stick.

Getting even more crazy with buying/building dedicated half cockpit enclosures is left as an exercise for the reader.

EDIT: Why yes I have seen one, why no it wasnt mine.......

RE: HET ME262 - corsair_pilot - 28-03-2012

Hmmmm... I like the way ur thinking! I'm sure at one stage u could get the whole lot

RE: HET ME262 - kizza42 - 28-03-2012

Our club president Paul was building a full Cockpit setup...
Then he found RC!

I believe its almost all sold now!

Myself I still have a Logitech G940 HOTAS setup for my simflying and a Logitech Driving Force GT for my simracing.

Also a TrackIR head tracking system for looking around virtual cockpits

RE: HET ME262 - paulj - 28-03-2012

Yep
Was a full size 737NG cockpit.
Just sold somemore bits of it last week actualy.
Still have a full size overhead panel, autopilot panel and efis left, plus the necessary software to run them.
Every switch, dial and display worked just like the real thing.
Here is an old photo of my mates one which was still under construction at the time, a lot
more has been completed since then.

Lots of fun and heaps of money.
