Cold Weather & LiPo's - kizza42 - 15-06-2009

Something you may or may not have realised is that cold weather like we are having is not good for our batteries, if possible, try to keep your batteries warm this winter!

This is an intersting topic considering that LiPo's are not cheap, I note that the serious RC'ers will generally heat their batteries up to about 55degreesC for optimum performance. Also, on the Extreme RC website they state that they do not hold LiPo stock due to possible changes in storage temps and if they are holding stock they are kept at a constant "basement" temp. Always good to know how to look after what is often close to the most expensive part of our aircraft.
